We've been a little busy.....

Ok, I have no excuse for the lack of updates other than..."we've been a little busy".  So gather around & I'll fill you all in!

The joy of Gyprock!
Trent & Mark fixed the gyprock in both cabins. We are now waiting for the professional guys to come and "finish" the job. Anyone who has every attempted to "finish" plaster will agree that it one of the most difficult & frustrating jobs. It looks easy & in theory it should be, but it’s clearly a form of art!
That said, I think that the boys did the most amazing job simply getting the gyprock up. Each sheet was extremely large, and the top section of the wall sheets had to be cut to fit the sloping roofline. The ceiling sheets are 6 meters in length so it took all 3 of us to lift them onto the hoist. They then had to be maneuvered into position whilst carefully trying not to bend them!! Once in position they had to be held in place until Trent climbed the ladder and fixed them in place. Great team effort if I do say so myself!!

Then it was on to a little bit of landscaping just to keep thing interesting!

Yet again the rain made life difficult! We had hoped to use the Bobcat but it was just too muddy. Again……just the most amazing perseverance show by Trent & Mark to get the job done.

One the boarder was in place we backfilled it with top soil.
It’s very hard to see but in amongst all this mulch we planted 80 tube stock plants. With a bit of luck & lots of tender loving care they will do just as well as the others we planted in front of the other cabin.

And then….the ground dried out just enough for us to start putting the surface around each cabin. We still have a huge amount to move and boarder to put in place-but it’s a start.  Once in place we’ll use the “thumper” to compact it down. (That’s my job! Oh joy!).

So that just a little peak at what we've been up to over the last few months.
We have another huge project that will be starting tomorrow...the pool! I promise to post pictures as soon as I can. Cheers Kylie
